Publication Ethics
Introduction
Health Gate is a peer-reviewed and double blind reviewed journal. Published in 4 editions each year (in January, April, July and October), Health Gate encourages submission of work related to health, especially health issues in the form of articles. All authors who submit their work to a journal for publication as an original article declare that the work submitted represents the author's contribution and has not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from another work. This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication
Publication of articles in peer-reviewed journals on Health Gate is an important foundation in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institutions that support it. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of ethical behavior expected for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer-reviewers, publishers, and the public.
Allegations of Research Misconduct
The Blitar City PPNI organization as publisher of Health Gate carries out its supervisory duties at all stages of publication seriously and we are aware of ethical behavior and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints or other commercial revenue does not impact or influence editorial decisions. Apart from that, the Blitar City PPNI organization and the Editorial Board will assist with communication with other journals and/or publishers if useful and necessary.
If violations are alleged, the Editors and Editorial Board will use COPE best practices to help them resolve complaints and deal fairly with the violations. This will include an investigation into the allegations made by the Editor. Manuscripts submitted and found to contain such violations will be rejected. In cases where a published paper is found to contain such violations, a retraction may be published and will be attributed to the original article.
The first step involves determining the validity of the allegation and assessing whether the allegation is consistent with the definition of research misconduct. This initial step also involves determining whether the individual reporting the violation has a relevant conflict of interest.
If there is a possibility of scientific misconduct or other substantial research irregularities, the allegation is conveyed to the corresponding author, who, on behalf of all co-authors, is asked to provide a detailed response. Once responses are received and evaluated, additional review and involvement of experts (such as statistical reviewers) may be obtained. For cases where infringement is unlikely, clarification, additional analysis, or both, published in the form of a letter to the editor, and often including a correction notice and correction to the published article are sufficient.
Institutions are expected to conduct appropriate and thorough investigations into allegations of scientific misconduct. Ultimately, authors, journals, and institutions have an important obligation to ensure the accuracy of the scientific record. By responding appropriately to concerns regarding scientific misconduct, and taking necessary actions based on evaluation of such concerns, such as corrections, retractions with replacement, and retractions, Health Gate Journal will continue to fulfill its responsibility to ensure the validity and integrity of the scientific record.
Publication decisions
Health Gate editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. Validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors can consult with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Complaints and Appeals
Health Gate will have clear procedures for handling complaints against the journal, Editorial Staff, Editorial Board or Publisher. Complaints will be clarified to a respected person in connection with the complaint case. The scope of the complaint covers everything related to the journal's business processes, for example the editorial process, discovery of citation manipulation, unfair editors/reviewers, peer-review manipulation, etc. Complaint cases will be processed in accordance with COPE guidelines. Complaint cases must be sent via email to: healthgateblitar@gmail.com
